Cooking Light Virtual Supper Club

Ultimately their love of food, blogging and their commitment to a health conscious lifestyle is what has brought 5 ladies (and one gent); 2 from Canada and 3 from the United States ( joining east and west and north and south), together to create the very 1st ever Virtual Supper Club sponsored by Cooking Light magazine!!! We have always had a love for Cooking Light magazine which has an emphasis on healthy eating and living. Each issue covers light cuisine and includes more than 70 delicious and flavourful recipes. It also explores food and nutrition news as well as fitness, health and beauty.

Let's introduce you to the members who have opened up their hearts and their kitchens and become features of the Virtual Supper Club to share recipes from the pages of Cooking Light. The idea is simple because we all share a common interest in cooking and meal planning and of course the food...oh the food!!! This is a team effort where we will be getting together virtually and combining what Cooking Light readers like best...good food with great company!!! We will also be featured on the Cooking Light web site as well as sharing their fantastic recipes with you all!!!!!!

You can join in by creating a dish based on the theme chosen each month, comment on any of our blog posts with a link to your recipe post or join in the Linky Tool and even use a past recipe if it fits the theme.  Post your recipe on your own blog on/or around the first Wednesday of each month.

These are the themes chosen for the beginning of the new decade....get your thinking caps on.

Jamie - Mom's Cooking Club

Married nearly 18 years to her Greek/Italian husband and mom to "tween" twin daughters. She lives in a coastal, military town in the Panhandle (the arm) of Florida and works part-time for a financial institution. Sandi - is a true Southerner, but a traveler at heart. She lives in Birmingham Alabama and knows more about fried green tomatoes than fricassees, but always enjoys trying a variety of new recipes. Her blog is Cooking at the Whistle Stop Cafe... a southern cafe their family owned for many years. In addition to being a Nurse Practitioner, she helps her husband with the family business~ testing new food products and writing cookbooks. Her kids are grown, and are in and out of the house, occasionally adding spice and activity to the empty nest.'

Mary Ann of Meet Me in the Kitchen

I am a stay at home mom with 3 children in Georgia. I love Cooking Light and use their recipes regularly, so this will be a fun way to highlight some great recipes.I started my blog- Meet Me in the Kitchen- almost 3 years ago. I started a blog because I was always sharing links to recipes and telling people about the meals I was cooking, so I figured it was a great way to share that with people. It has been a really fun hobby. I love to cook and bake. I keep our meals healthy, so that we can enjoy a full fat baked good every so often. I believe "moderation in all things".

Roz is a university professor who prefers to be in the kitchen with her family and friends over anything else. She has lived in South Carolina for nearly 15 years after living the rest of her life in the western half of the U.S in Arizona, California, Iowa and Missouri. The warmer year-round Southern weather allows her to enjoy her gardens, 3 horses, 3 dogs, 3 cats on an acreage, and the beaches with her husband. All four children have left the nest, but return often for visits and good eats. The start of her blog, La Bella Vita (The Beautiful Life) resulted from trying to live each day with an outlook that something is always beautiful in life around her, whether that be a simple flower, the joy of animals, a new place in the world to visit, or the taste of a great recipe.
