Have You Checked out This Month's Gourmet Magazine?

When I saw this month's Gourmet magazine on the shelves I just had to have it. All promises to myself were broken and my collection of foodie magazines grew by one more. Not that there isn't always an excuse...but hey...what's the point in having promises to yourself if you can't break them. No one to blame but yourself.

Gourmet magazine is on the bandwagon for cooking schools and vacations around the world this month. You just have to check out this issue!! If you are a follower of this blog you will know of my dream to visit every cooking school on every continent. Page 67 in this months issue brought back some wonderful memories of my own week long sojourn at Keartisinal . What I would like to know is where can I get this gentleman's job being able to visit 45 memorable cooking vacation destinations around the world???? That is my dream job!!!!!!!!!

In speaking with Costas Moraitis one of the founders of Keartisanal he says cooking classes have started for this year. How I would love to be there again hiking over the ancient trails to remote and beautiful sand beaches, snorkelling and diving off cliffs into the azure blue Agean Sea, dancing to the strains of Bazouka music while sipping homemade raki and of course creating wonderful dishes from Aglaia Kremezi's extensive herb and flower gardens. We would have our cooking classes in the morning and by lunch would be sitting over a few glasses of great Greek wines, excellent food and good conversation. Lunch always lasted well into the afternoon. I would love to attend in the fall when it is olive harvest for a completely different menu and view of the island. In my opinion this is one of the best ways to see a country if you don't have friends or relatives there. You make instant friendships, meet locals and prepare authentic dishes in their kitchens. What could be better than that!!!!

These are the cooking school/vacations I would like to go on that are mentioned in Gourmet magazine this month:
